In shortBurj Khalifa At the Top is a timed visit to the observation decks on levels 124 and 125, from AED 219 per adult and AED 169 per child, lasting about two hours. You meet our host at the entrance on the lower ground floor of The Dubai Mall. The 16:30 slot catches sunset and sells out days ahead, so book it first.

At the Top is the standard observation experience at Burj Khalifa, on levels 124 and 125, about 450 metres up. Tickets are timed, so the slot you book is the slot you enter; arriving late can mean losing it on busy days. Our host meets you 15 minutes before your time at the At the Top entrance, on the lower ground floor of The Dubai Mall, hands over your tickets and walks you to the queue. From there it is security, a short walkway with displays about the building, and one of the fastest lifts in the world, which reaches level 124 in about a minute. Your ears will pop.

Level 124 has floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace behind glass panels; level 125 is one floor up by stairs or lift and is usually a little quieter. On a clear day you can see the Gulf, Palm Jumeirah, the desert to the east and the towers of Sheikh Zayed Road below you. The honest part: winter and spring often bring haze or morning fog, and visibility can drop to a few kilometres. We cannot change the weather, but the 09:30 slot is usually the clearest and the least crowded.

The 16:30 slot gets you there for sunset, and it is by far the most popular; it sells out days in advance between November and April, and the decks are busy. The 19:00 slot is for the city lights, with the Dubai Fountain show visible below every half hour. If you want to go higher, the separate level 148 ticket includes a lounge and a less crowded deck at a higher price; ask us. We sell the official ticket price with our host included, not a reseller bundle with a forced buffet or mall voucher.

How the time is spent

  1. 16:15
Meet our host at The Dubai Mall

Come to the At the Top entrance on the lower ground floor of The Dubai Mall, near the food court. Our host waits there with your tickets 15 minutes before your slot.

  2. 16:30
    Security and entry

Bags go through a quick airport-style scan. Large luggage, tripods and food are not allowed, so travel light on the day of your visit.

  3. 16:40
    Walkway and high-speed lift

A short walkway with displays on how the tower was built, then the lift to level 124 in about a minute. Swallow to help your ears adjust.

  4. 16:50
    Level 124 deck and terrace

Floor-to-ceiling windows on every side and the outdoor terrace. Find a spot on the west side early if you want the best sunset view over the Gulf.

  5. 17:30
    Sunset over the city

Between November and February the sun sets at about 17:30 to 18:00, turning the Gulf gold. Stay on as the city lights start to come on below.

  6. 17:50
    Level 125

Walk or take the lift one floor up to level 125, usually a little quieter, with more windows and a few interactive displays about the city.

  7. 18:30
    Exit and the Dubai Fountain

The lift down brings you back to the mall. The Dubai Fountain performs every 30 minutes in the evening, a short walk from the exit.

Times shown for the first start time; later runs follow the same plan.

Questions about this experience

Can I cancel or change my ticket?
Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before your time slot, and date or time changes are free if another slot is available. Within 24 hours tickets cannot be refunded or changed, because they are issued in your name.
What if it is foggy or hazy?
The decks stay open in fog and haze, and the attraction does not refund for low visibility. If you book with us and the forecast looks poor, we will gladly move you to a clearer day for free, as long as it is more than 24 hours ahead.
How much do children pay?
Children aged 3 to 11 pay the child price and under-threes enter free with an adult. Pushchairs are allowed and the lift, decks and toilets are step-free, so families with small children manage easily.
Is there food at the top?
There is no restaurant on levels 124 and 125, only a small refreshment counter with drinks and snacks. The Dubai Mall below has hundreds of options, including vegetarian and vegan restaurants, so eat before or after.
Can I take good photos through the glass?
Yes. Press your phone close to the glass and turn off the flash to avoid reflections. The outdoor terrace on level 124 has gaps between the glass panels, which give the clearest shots of the skyline.

Took my nephews, who are visiting from Karachi, for their first trip up. The lift ride alone had them shrieking. From the top you can see the desert on one side and the sea on the other, which my sister found the most surprising thing of all. Easy and well organised.

Our replyWe are delighted it went so well, Hamza. Thank you for travelling with us.
Stunning view and the sunset was everything people say. Even with a timed ticket we still queued about fifteen minutes for the lift, as the evening slot is very popular. Kevin warned us it might happen and kept the kids entertained with facts about the tower.

Our replyThank you, Georges, and thank you for the honest note. We have passed it to our operations team so the next trip is even smoother.
We booked the Burj Khalifa sunset slot on level 148 and Kevin met us at the entrance with tickets ready, so we went straight through. Watching the sun drop behind the city and the lights coming on below was unreal. The fountain show afterwards was the perfect finish.
