Jet ski ride to Burj Al Arab with an instructor, 60 minutes
1 h · starts 09:00, 11:00, 15:00, 17:00 · 4.7 (3)
This is the most fun hour you can spend on the water in Dubai, and it is run properly. You meet us at a marina near Jumeirah, 15 minutes before your ride; there is no hotel pickup, but the exact location and parking details come with your confirmation and taxis know the spot. Check-in takes a few minutes: a photo ID, a signed safety form and a life jacket fitted by our team. Viktor Petrenko or Jomar Villanueva, both licensed marine instructors, lead most rides.
The price is per jet ski, and two people can share one: the driver must be 16 or over, and a passenger can be younger with an adult driving, subject to the instructor's approval. After a short briefing on the controls, hand signals and the rules on the water, you ride in a line behind the instructor. We keep groups to six jet skis, so nobody gets left behind. The route runs along the Jumeirah coast to a stop in front of Burj Al Arab, where the instructor takes photos and short videos on your phone, then continues past the beaches with time to open up on the throttle in a safe zone away from swimmers. Speeds are controlled by the instructor, and the coastguard enforces strict zones, which is why rogue operators who let riders go anywhere are both illegal and dangerous.
The honest part: the sea outside the marina can be choppy, especially on afternoon rides, and you will get wet. You need to be able to swim, and it is not suitable if you are pregnant or have back problems. Rides are cancelled if the coastguard raises the wind warning. Our price includes the life jacket, instructor, fuel and photos on your phone, with no deposit charged for scratches that were already there.

The jet ski instructor was excellent with first-timers, gave a proper safety talk and rode alongside us until we were confident. Then we raced out to the sail-shaped hotel for photos, which he took on our phones. Thirty minutes of pure fun.
Birthday treat for my brother and his friends, six of us on three jet skis. Ramesh kept the group together, let the confident riders open up the throttle in the open water, and stopped for a group shot with the skyline behind. We left soaked and grinning.
Great fun and Ramesh was a brilliant instructor. Thirty minutes did feel short once you include the briefing and getting out of the harbour, so I would book the hour next time. The photos in front of the sail-shaped hotel came out amazing.
